On March 18, 1990, two men dressed as police officers walked into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts and stole 13 works of art, including paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Manet. The heist, which remains the largest art robbery in history, remains unsolved to this day and the stolen artwork has never been recovered.
